CO-DIRECTORS
Candice D'Adamo and Nelle Hokianga
Working together since 2023, Candice and Nelle have a combined expertise which ensures The Brothahood is both pedagogically sound and culturally vibrant.
Drawing on nine years of successful dance programming through the Boys Crew at Whitford Catholic Primary School, The Brothahood evolves into a dedicated dance education initiative exclusively for boys. The program has been led jointly by Mrs Candice D’Adamo, a seasoned educator and choreographer with deep experience in the CEWA community, and Nelle Hokianga, Creative Director of Perth’s One Mob Studios—a renowned Hip Hop and Breakdance collective promoting community, culture, and inclusion. We aim to extend the reach of this empowering model to remote communities across Western Australia, where boys rarely access structured dance opportunities. Through bringing Hip Hop and Breaking to regions traditionally underserved in the arts, our program will foster resilience, connection, and creative growth—ensuring that every boy, regardless of location, can experience the life-affirming benefits of dance education.
